James Quininchetta, 41, of Ridge, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend, Rebecca Roth, outside her Moriches apartment on June 6, 2025. He fired seven shots into her vehicle over a perceived financial dispute and fled the scene. He was arrested the next day and is expected to be sentenced to 23 years to life in prison on March 11, 2026.
