The Suffolk County PBA remembers and honors the life of Chief Thomas Compitello, who passed away two years ago today from 9/11-related cancer. Chief Compitello began his service in 1960 with the 1st Precinct and earned the admiration of many as “a cop’s cop.” On July 28, 2000, he was promoted to Chief of Patrol, a role he held until his retirement in 2004. He is survived by his wife and three children. His legacy and dedication to service will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Chief Compitello.
