Demario Weston Jr., a 22-year-old from Farmingville, has been indicted for armed robbery and various other charges related to the alleged gunpoint robbery of El Quetzal Deli in September 2024. During the robbery, Weston is accused of threatening a clerk with a firearm and stealing around $6,000, as well as physically assaulting the clerk. Following an investigation, authorities found a loaded handgun and illicit drugs during a search of Weston and his girlfriend Tiana MacDonald's home.
Weston faces multiple charges, including first-degree robbery and various counts related to weapons and drug possession, with a potential 25-year prison sentence if convicted on the top charge. He is currently held on a $1 million cash bail. In contrast, MacDonald, facing related drug charges but classified as non-bail eligible, was released and could face up to 9 years in prison. Both are scheduled to return to court in 2025, and the case is being prosecuted by the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.
