Georgios Boultadakis, a 25-year-old man from East Meadow, has been indicted for the second-degree murder of his domestic partner, John Melnikoff, Jr., following an incident in their Huntington Station home in August 2022. Boultadakis called 911, claiming he found Melnikoff unresponsive at the basement stairs, but an autopsy later revealed Melnikoff died from neck compression, indicating homicide.
Initially treated as an unattended death with no signs of foul play, further investigation led to the identification of the cause of death as neck compression after the autopsy on August 10, 2022. Boultadakis was arrested on March 3, 2025, and subsequently arraigned on March 26, where he was remanded in custody. If convicted, he faces 25 years to life in prison. The case is being prosecuted by officials from the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.
Boultadakis is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
