Thank you to Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine and the entire Suffolk County Legislature who voted unanimously to approve the PBA Contract. This contract puts more cops on the streets while delivering a fair cost of living raise. It will also reduce the amount of time to top pay from 11.5 years to 8 years for young officers which is critical to addressing the recruitment and retention crisis. This deal extends the collective bargaining agreement through 2029 and addresses important issues including officer mental health.
