ALLEGED MS-13 GANG MEMBER EXTRADITED FROM NORTH CAROLINA TO SUFFOLK COUNTY TO FACE KIDNAPPING AND ASSAULT CHARGES

Josue Zepeda Padilla, a 28-year-old alleged member of the MS-13 gang, has been extradited from North Carolina to Suffolk County, New York, to face serious charges including robbery and gang assault. The charges stem from an incident on January 6, 2024, in which Zepeda Padilla and several associates allegedly kidnapped and violently assaulted a 15-year-old boy at the Huntington Train Station. The assault left the boy unconscious after he was beaten, kicked, and stabbed. Fortunately, he survived and was later found by a Good Samaritan.
After the assault, Zepeda Padilla fled and evaded law enforcement for over a year before being arrested in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He has now been returned to Suffolk County to answer for his alleged crimes, with local authorities expressing a commitment to collaborating with federal partners to combat gang violence.
