SUFFOLK COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY TIERNEY ANNOUNCES 109-COUNT INDICTMENT CHARGING 21 DEFENDANTS WITH NARCOTICS TRAFFICKING
Apr 15, 2025

Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced a major 109-count indictment involving 21 defendants tied to a large-scale narcotics trafficking operation in Suffolk County. This investigation, spearheaded by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Fentanyl Task Force, resulted in the recovery of over five kilograms of narcotics, including 2.5 kilograms of heroin and fentanyl.

Key figures include Larell Campbell and Carolyn Tolin, both charged with operating as major traffickers. Campbell and Carlos Torres were allegedly supplying large amounts of fentanyl and cocaine, while Tolin operated a nationwide narcotics business through the dark web from her home, using cryptocurrency for transactions.

The investigation began in December 2023, culminating in extensive surveillance and over 100 search warrants, leading to the arrests of most defendants. Tolin's operation included shipping narcotics through the U.S. Postal Service and UPS, with a total of over 1,000 shipments to 40 states. The operation’s scale involved significant participation from family members of Campbell, and evidence collected includes narcotics, packaging materials, and digital devices.

The charges against the defendants vary, with some facing long prison sentences, and several are currently in custody while others remain outstanding. The case highlights an ongoing commitment to combat narcotics trafficking and its devastating impact on communities.
