BAY SHORE MAN INDICTED FOR SECOND DEGREE MURDER
Apr 15, 2025

Ricardo Siguenza, a 32-year-old man from Bay Shore, has been indicted for second-degree murder for allegedly killing 44-year-old Carlos Edenilson Cabrera Alvarez. The incident occurred on February 25, 2025, when Siguenza is accused of striking Cabrera Alvarez in the head with a lug wrench as they passed each other on Main Street. After the attack, Cabrera Alvarez fell and later died on March 11, 2025, after being placed on life support.

Siguenza was arrested later that night while attempting to enter a bar, and he was found with the lug wrench used in the attack. He has been remanded to custody and faces a sentence of 25 years to life if convicted. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 2, 2025. The case is being prosecuted by Suffolk County authorities, who emphasize the need to address such violent acts in the community.
