Jerry McKoy, a 58-year-old convicted violent felon, was found guilty of shooting into a house in Mastic Beach in April 2024. During an argument over money, he fired two shots from a loaded handgun into a home occupied by an elderly couple, though they were unharmed. McKoy has prior convictions for assault and burglary. Law enforcement identified and arrested him in July 2024. He faces up to 25 years to life in prison, with sentencing scheduled for June 24, 2025.
