Jonathan Redar, 33, of Miller Place, a prior felony offender, was sentenced to 20 years in prison plus 5 years of post-release supervision after being convicted of shooting a relative during an argument outside a billiards bar in Mount Sinai in May 2024. The victim was shot in the arm and abdomen and required emergency surgery. Redar was arrested weeks later at a Walmart in Yaphank. He has a history of previous felony convictions. The sentence follows a jury trial in May 2025, and Redar was represented by attorney David Besso.
