|
Michael Tulchiner, a 61-year-old attorney from Melville, New York, was arrested and arraigned for allegedly stealing $413,237 intended to pay off a client's mortgage during a real estate transaction. Tulchiner, who was responsible for managing the funds, redeposited the money into his account instead of paying the mortgage company and used it for personal and firm expenses. He faces charges of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree and is due back in court on September 2, 2025. If convicted, he could face 5 to 15 years in prison. The case is being prosecuted by Suffolk County authorities, and anyone who believes they were victimized is encouraged to contact the District Attorney’s Office.
