MIDDLE ISLAND MAN CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL SALE OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Aug 12, 2025

Troy Daniels, a 44-year-old man from Middle Island, New York, was indicted for selling large quantities of fentanyl out of his residence, with police officers purchasing over 2 ounces of the drug multiple times between May and July 2025. The fentanyl sales pose a serious lethal threat, with enough to potentially kill over 28,000 people. During a search of his home, authorities found additional fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, a shotgun, and neglected animals. Daniels faces multiple charges, including drug trafficking and animal cruelty, and was held on a substantial bail. His girlfriend, Toni Gerwycki, was also charged with animal cruelty for neglecting four puppies in poor conditions. Both are due back in court soon, with Daniels potentially facing up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
