BAY SHORE MAN FOUND GUILTY AT TRIAL OF SEX TRAFFICKING

Freddie Rice, 34, of Bay Shore, was convicted after a jury trial of sex trafficking and promoting prostitution. Between 2019 and 2023, Rice used narcotics and financial coercion to force victims, all addicted to heroin or crack cocaine, into engaging in sexual acts with third parties for his profit. He withheld drugs to control them and kept all earnings, punishing victims if they kept any money. Rice was convicted of two counts of sex trafficking and one of promoting prostitution and faces up to life in prison at sentencing. He has prior felony convictions and is also awaiting sentencing on unrelated drug charges.
