Lloyd Berger, 64, of Copiague, was indicted for leaving the scene after fatally striking pedestrian Louis Lasula on Montauk Highway. Berger allegedly continued driving without stopping or reporting the crash. He was arrested two days later and faces charges including leaving the scene and unlicensed driving. He is held on bail and scheduled for court in January 2026, with potential prison time if convicted.
