Brian France, a 62-year-old previously convicted murderer and rapist, was sentenced to 22 years to life in prison for a violent assault on a bus just two months after being released on parole. During the attack in May 2025, France used a padlock to violently assault a fellow passenger, causing serious injuries. France has a lengthy criminal history, including a murder conviction in 1988, for which he served over 30 years. He was released on parole in August 2020, violated it in 2023, and was re-incarcerated before being released again in March 2025. The latest assault led to his current sentence.
