THREE HOME HEALTH AIDES ARRESTED FOR GRAND LARCENY AND IDENTITY THEFT

Three home health aides—Danielle Guarino, Teresa Garcia, and Mamerta Gonzalez—were arrested for stealing nearly $173,000 from an 84-year-old woman in their care. Guarino is also charged with identity theft for using the victim’s credit cards without permission. The theft involved writing unauthorized checks and making fraudulent purchases on Amazon between 2019 and 2022. The aides exploited the victim’s trust and her inability to manage her finances, leading to significant financial loss. Garcia was arraigned on grand larceny charges and released on her own recognizance.
