Michael Tulchiner, a 61-year-old attorney from Melville, pleaded guilty to stealing nearly $413,237 from a client’s real estate transaction, which was intended to pay off a property loan. Instead of using the funds as instructed, Tulchiner redeposited the money into his account and used it for personal expenses. He has agreed to pay nearly half a million dollars in restitution and will forfeit his law license. The case underscores the importance of integrity in the legal profession, and Tulchiner faces sentencing before Supreme Court Justice John B. Collins.
