We’re incredibly proud of First Precinct Officers Peter Verhey and Joshua Valderrama, who assisted in delivering a baby boy in Amityville. Responding swiftly to a 911 call, they helped Aylara Alleyne, 34, give birth in her home before EMTs arrived. Both mother and baby are in good condition thanks to our officers’ quick thinking and dedication.
