The Suffolk PBA proudly attended the legislative meeting to honor 2nd Precinct Police Officer William Parmenter for his life-saving actions while off duty earlier this month.
On July 3, while fishing 80 miles south of Hampton Bays, Officer Parmenter responded to a call for help from a man who had been severely injured by fishing hooks. Using his training as a Police Officer and EMT, Officer Parmenter quickly applied tourniquets to stabilize Mr. Orsinger and arranged for his airlift to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was treated and later released.
Thank you to Legislators Dominick Thorne, Tom Donnelly, Stephanie Bontempi, Jason A. Richberg, and Rebecca Sanin for giving Officer Parmenter the recognition he deserves. Congratulations, Officer Parmenter! We are grateful for your dedication to the residents of Suffolk County!
