Freddie Rice, a 34-year-old man from Bay Shore, was indicted for sex trafficking, accused of coercing three women into engaging in sexual acts for money through physical force and drug manipulation. According to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney, Rice allegedly exploited the women's drug addictions to control them and ensure compliance. He provided drugs like heroin and crack cocaine, and the victims were forced to hand over all their earnings. Rice fabricated a "debt" that the victims needed to work off, making it impossible for them to repay.
Rice was arraigned on charges including one count of Sex Trafficking (Force) and multiple counts of Class B felonies related to sex trafficking and promoting prostitution. He has been remanded in custody while awaiting further court proceedings scheduled for January 27, 2025. The case is being prosecuted by the Hate Crimes, Elder Abuse, Anti-Bias, and Human Trafficking Unit, following an investigation by local and federal authorities.
*Note: The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.*
