HOLBROOK WOMAN INDICTED FOR CARJACKING INCIDENT

Dareine Heller, 34, of Holbrook, was indicted for stealing a car and injuring an 84-year-old woman during the incident in East Setauket. The theft occurred on September 11, 2025, when Heller allegedly took the victim’s vehicle, knocked her to the ground, and caused injuries requiring hospital treatment. Heller was arrested hours later with the stolen keys and faces charges including robbery, assault, and leaving the scene. She was ordered held without bail and faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
