Heroic Actions by our 6th PCT officers.

Thanks to the swift and heroic actions of Sixth Precinct Police Officers Kyle Radecki and Jared Gresh, a newborn in Centereach is alive and well. On July 31, the officers responded to a 911 call for a baby who had just been delivered and was not breathing. They immediately performed CPR and administered oxygen, and the baby began breathing.

Today, we honor the memory of Suffolk County Police Sergeant Timothy Henck

Today, we honor the memory of Suffolk County Police Sergeant Timothy Henck, who tragically lost his life in 1995 from injuries sustained while pursuing a burglary suspect on the Long Island Expressway. Thirty years later, his service, sacrifice, and legacy continue to be remembered by his loved ones and the Suffolk County Police Department. We will never forget.

Farewell to our brother Officer Didarul Islam

Today, the Suffolk County P.B.A. and an array of international law enforcement agencies wish to bid farewell to our brother Officer Didarul Islam as he is sent to his final resting place. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, loved ones, and colleagues.

The truth is Suffolk County Police Officers have exceeded standards in their activation of body cameras.

The truth is Suffolk County Police Officers have exceeded standards in their activation of body cameras. Thousands upon thousands of police interactions were recorded giving the public unprecedented transparency into how we police. In some cases, it is completely appropriate and/or required to restrict the use of body cameras.

Suffolk County Police Officer Edwin Hernandez

July 27th marked 21 years since Suffolk County Police Officer Edwin Hernandez was tragically killed in the line of duty. Officer Hernandez served with honor for nearly two decades, and his sacrifice continues to be remembered by his fellow officers, the law enforcement community, and the residents of Suffolk County. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones as we honor his memory today.

Dominick currently represents Suffolk County's 7th District and is serving his second term in the legislature. He also chairs the committee for Fire, Rescue, Emergency Medical Services, and Preparedness.
