SCPBA Wins Landmark Case Restoring Officer Rights
At the beginning of 2022, corrupt Legislator Rob Trotta made a false and frivolous complaint to the Suffolk County Board of Ethics. Acting outside of its scope of authority, the board issued a flawed decision that effectively prevented the PBA from donating funds to Suffolk DA Ray Tierney.
This decision clearly violated the constitutional rights of Suffolk County Police Officers. The PBA filed a federal lawsuit against the SCBOE and Legislator Trotta. I am happy to report that SCBOE has reversed its decision.
This decision restores the rights of thousands of police officers who were being disenfranchised by Trotta's false complaint.
With millions of dollars going to Soros-funded DAs, it's unconscionable that Legislator Trotta would seek to deprive DA Tierney of support from the men and women of law enforcement. The fact that Legislator Trotta has so little regard for the Constitution of the United States brings him further disgrace. As we have said in the past, the only honorable thing Legislator Trotta can do is resign.
We are proud to have fought and won this battle for our police officers. We will continue to fight against the likes of Trotta and anyone that seeks to make SCPD Officers second-class citizens.
