Michael Khodorkovskiy, a 44-year-old man from Brooklyn, has pleaded guilty to Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree for his role in selling cocaine intended for distribution in Suffolk County. Prosecutors detail that between July 2023 and August 2024, Khodorkovskiy sold large quantities of cocaine to undercover police officers, including sales made in East Hampton.
Peter A. Saad, Jr., a former attorney based in Riverhead, New York, pleaded guilty to Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree for stealing $25,000 from an escrow account related to a real estate transaction. Saad was disbarred on January 31, 2024, after it was discovered that he failed to return the escrow funds and instead used the money for personal expenses following the sale of a home.
A 15-year-old from Selden, New York, has been indicted on charges of second-degree murder and attempted murder after allegedly stabbing his grandmother over 35 times and seriously injuring his mother. The incidents occurred on April 7, 2025, during a confrontation related to the teen's school attendance and potential confiscation of his laptop.
Jason Funderburke, a 39-year-old from Hempstead, was sentenced to 25 years in prison after being found guilty of robbery and assault against a funeral home owner in Amityville. The incident occurred on August 29, 2023, when Funderburke and an accomplice, armed with a knife, demanded money from the victim and stabbed him twice after he refused.
Cristian Mendoza-Baquiax, a 37-year-old from Riverhead, has been sentenced to 5 to 15 years in prison for drunk driving, resulting in a seven-car crash that killed his passenger, 33-year-old Nelson Reyes-Muxin, and injured several others. Mendoza-Baquiax pleaded guilty in March to multiple charges, including three counts of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide.
Philip Walker, a 58-year-old resident of Mastic, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to Manslaughter in the First Degree for the fatal stabbing of his housemate, 63-year-old Jimmy Vaughn. The incident occurred on June 30, 2023, at the Shirley Motel, where Walker stabbed Vaughn three times with a knife. Despite efforts to save him, Vaughn died shortly after the attack.
Antwane Lee, a 31-year-old Bay Shore resident, has been indicted for Murder in the Second Degree following the fatal stabbing of 24-year-old Justin Evans after a verbal dispute. The incident occurred on March 30, 2025, at the Heatherwood Apartment Complex, where Lee allegedly used a large serrated hunting knife to stab Evans in the neck and torso.
A 32-year-old man from Bay Shore, New York, was sentenced to 18 years in prison for sexually abusing a young victim over a span of more than a decade. The defendant pleaded guilty in March to multiple charges, including Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree and various counts of rape.
Alexander Cerda, a 21-year-old from Bay Shore, has been indicted on multiple charges, including Manslaughter in the Second Degree and Assault in the First Degree, after allegedly striking and killing pedestrian Eric Perez while driving a stolen vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

The incident occurred on February 25, 2025, when Siguenza is accused of striking Cabrera Alvarez in the head with a lug wrench as they passed each other on Main Street.
Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced a major 109-count indictment involving 21 defendants tied to a large-scale narcotics trafficking operation in Suffolk County. This investigation, spearheaded by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Fentanyl Task Force, resulted in the recovery of over five kilograms of narcotics, including 2.5 kilograms of heroin and fentanyl.
Josue Zepeda Padilla, a 28-year-old alleged member of the MS-13 gang, has been extradited from North Carolina to Suffolk County, New York, to face serious charges including robbery and gang assault. Basheer Vinson, a 30-year-old man from Brooklyn, was sentenced to 40 years to life in prison following his conviction for the second-degree murder of Mark Birthwright, 26, during an attempted robbery in 2020. The sentence was handed down by Justice Timothy P.
Christopher Miller, 43, of Dix Hills, has been indicted for the second-degree murder of his 75-year-old father, John Miller. The indictment follows a tragic incident that occurred on March 17, 2025, when Christopher was admitted to Stony Brook University Hospital after a car crash. The next day, John reported his son missing.
Jeremias Anaribamoran, a 47-year-old man from Central Islip, has been indicted for the murder of 40-year-old Gustavo Godinez-Carcamo, following an alleged shooting incident that occurred after a verbal altercation during a social gathering on March 15, 2025.
Steven Musgrove, a 29-year-old man from Selden, was convicted by a jury of illegal possession of a loaded and defaced firearm. As a two-time felon with a history of violent crime, he faces a sentence of up to 25 years to life in prison. The incident occurred on March 22, 2024, when Musgrove entered Shakers Pub and, during a police check, hid a loaded handgun in the trash before leaving.
Georgios Boultadakis, a 25-year-old man from East Meadow, has been indicted for the second-degree murder of his domestic partner, John Melnikoff, Jr., following an incident in their Huntington Station home in August 2022. Boultadakis called 911, claiming he found Melnikoff unresponsive at the basement stairs, but an autopsy later revealed Melnikoff died from neck compression, indicating homicide.
Juan Morales Guerra, a 32-year-old man, was found guilty of leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in serious injury to a pedestrian. After hitting the pedestrian in Brentwood, New York, on May 23, 2022, Morales Guerra fled the scene without reporting the incident or calling for help. The pedestrian suffered a traumatic brain injury requiring extensive medical treatment.
Three individuals have been indicted for the murder of Candido Guadalupe Saravia Martinez, a 39-year-old Salvadoran national, who was found dead in Central Islip, New York, on February 18, 2025. The accused are Brayan Heredia Escobar (19), Jhon Lopez Campos (18), both undocumented immigrants, and Julio Beltran (39) from El Salvador.
Joshua Guzman, a 30-year-old man from East Patchogue, New York, has been indicted for selling carfentanil that allegedly resulted in a fatal overdose of a 27-year-old victim. This indictment comes while Guzman already faces other drug charges, pending in court.  Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A.
Russell Defreitas, a 55-year-old resident of Holbrook, was found guilty of operating as a major drug trafficker and 91 additional charges, including drug and weapon offenses.
Emilio Hernandez, a 55-year-old man from Bay Shore, was sentenced to 15 years in prison following his conviction for robbing a laundromat in April 2023. The jury found him guilty of Robbery in the Second Degree and other charges after evidence showed that he used a starter pistol during the robbery while disguised with a hat, mask, and sunglasses.
Jason Funderburke, a 38-year-old from Hempstead, was convicted by a jury of robbery and assault for a violent crime involving the owner of a funeral home in Amityville, New York, which occurred in August 2023. The incident took place as the victim was entering the funeral home, during which Funderburke and an accomplice threatened him with a knife, demanding money.

James Carr, a 35-year-old man from Lake Grove, New York, has been found guilty of assault and drug possession charges related to the near-fatal overdose of his 11-month-old child due to fentanyl exposure. The incident occurred on January 13, 2024, when emergency responders found the infant in a critical condition.
Amanda Burnside, a 42-year-old from East Quogue, New York, was sentenced to 18 years in prison for arson and attempted robbery. After being found guilty of multiple arsons in Hampton Bays, which occurred in November 2023, Burnside attempted to ignite fires in three homes, successfully setting one occupied home on fire.
Michael Parise, a 49-year-old resident of Selden, has been indicted for committing a series of commercial burglaries across Suffolk County, New York.
Demario Weston Jr., a 22-year-old from Farmingville, has been indicted for armed robbery and various other charges related to the alleged gunpoint robbery of El Quetzal Deli in September 2024. During the robbery, Weston is accused of threatening a clerk with a firearm and stealing around $6,000, as well as physically assaulting the clerk.
Matthew Sheehy, a 47-year-old man from East Setauket, has been indicted for causing a serious three-vehicle crash that injured four people, including one woman who lost her eyesight in one eye.
Two men, Randy Woods and Dwayne Jones, were sentenced to prison for their roles in stealing tires and rims from 114 vehicles in Suffolk County, New York. Woods, 38, received a sentence of 5 to 10 years after pleading guilty to multiple felonies, while Jones, 46, was sentenced to 4 to 8 years after pleading guilty to similar charges.

Raul Ayala, 51, has been indicted for the 2003 murder of 88-year-old Edna "Timmie" Schubert in North Bay Shore, New York. Schubert was found brutally beaten in her home, and despite an extensive initial investigation, the case went cold.
Marianne Mkrtchian, a 19-year-old woman from North Bellmore, has been indicted on multiple charges, including Assault in the Second Degree, for her alleged reckless driving that led to a serious injury of a Good Samaritan in North Babylon.
Adriano Abreu Bonifacio, a 39-year-old man from Deer Park, was indicted by the Suffolk County District Attorney for possessing five kilograms of fentanyl, a quantity capable of killing over 2.5 million people. The indictment includes charges of Operating as a Major Trafficker and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, both Class A-1 felonies.

Nicholas D’Agostino, a 21-year-old from Arizona, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Yusef Staine on a Long Island Railroad train on February 16, 2022. D’Agostino shot Staine in the back of the head and then fired a second shot into his torso after missing their stop.
Amanda Burnside, a 42-year-old from East Quogue, has been found guilty of Arson in the Second Degree and related charges following a jury trial. The case, announced by Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney, involved Burnside's attempts to set three homes on fire in Hampton Bays in November 2023, one of which was occupied by four people at the time.
Alan Anderson, a 60-year-old employee of the New York City Administration for Children's Services (ACS), was sentenced to 10 months in jail for submitting 12 forged doctor's notes to his employer in order to avoid attending work.
Gary Cowell, a 72-year-old man from Patchogue, pleaded guilty to charges involving the dismemberment and concealment of Yvette Leonard's body after her overdose. Leonard, 56, had been missing since June 13, 2024, and Cowell was the last person to see her alive.
Cody B. Fisher, a 29-year-old from Brentwood, has been indicted for Assault on a Police Officer and multiple related offenses after allegedly crashing into a Suffolk County police vehicle while impaired by alcohol and marijuana. The incident occurred on January 5, 2025, when Officer Brendon Gallagher was conducting a traffic stop and Fisher sped by in a Ford Mustang.
Daniel Fier, a 40-year-old former attorney from Patchogue, has been indicted for allegedly stealing around $70,000 from clients through real estate transactions. Munim Raghid, a 26-year-old resident of Ronkonkoma, was arrested on January 2, 2025, for animal cruelty and contempt of court after being found in possession of three Kangal Shepherds, including two puppies, despite a court order prohibiting him from having any animals due to previous animal cruelty charges.
Tavion Elting, an 18-year-old from East Patchogue, has been indicted on felony weapons charges after a brawl at Smith Haven Mall during Black Friday shopping on November 29, 2024. During the fight, a loaded 9 mm pistol fell from his pocket, leading to bystanders kicking the weapon away and securing it until police arrived.
Freddie Rice, a 34-year-old man from Bay Shore, was indicted for sex trafficking, accused of coercing three women into engaging in sexual acts for money through physical force and drug manipulation. According to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney, Rice allegedly exploited the women's drug addictions to control them and ensure compliance.
Jordan Behling, a 23-year-old resident of Wheatley Heights, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including Robbery in the First Degree, following a violent incident linked to a Facebook Marketplace scam. On June 16, 2023, Behling attempted to sell a PlayStation 5 to a victim who handed him $280 in cash.
A 60-year-old man from Connecticut was convicted in Suffolk County for sexually abusing his ex-girlfriend's daughter over a five-year period, starting when the victim was six years old. The abuse, which escalated over time, occurred while the defendant was living with the child's family. It ended when he moved out in 2016.
Robert Terry, the 65-year-old owner of Terry Contracting & Materials, Inc. from Southampton, has been indicted for failing to pay his employees the required prevailing wage rate, allegedly shortchanging them by approximately $83,694 during a public works project at the Davis Park Marina Improvement.

Javesh Persaud, a 34-year-old man from Shirley, New York, was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to sex trafficking and related offenses. He lured an 18-year-old woman, who was experiencing homelessness, to Suffolk County under the pretense of providing shelter, then forced her to engage in sexual acts with others for money, which he kept.
Giampiero Cali, a 48-year-old from Farmingville, was convicted for felony environmental crimes after admitting to dumping hazardous materials from a Brooklyn demolition site in Suffolk County. On December 5, 2024, he pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including Endangering the Public Health, Safety, or the Environment and Falsifying Business Records.
Paul Albinagorta, a 34-year-old man from Central Islip, has been indicted for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree after allegedly stabbing a co-worker multiple times in a workplace incident. The attack occurred on November 24, 2024, at Gino’s of Nesconset, where Albinagorta reportedly approached the victim from behind and stabbed him with a hunting knife during food preparation.
Alan Anderson, a 55-year-old employee of the New York City Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), pleaded guilty to submitting 12 forged doctor notes to evade his work obligations. A 33-year-old man from Copiague has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for the rape of his 9-year-old stepdaughter. Following his guilty plea in September 2024 for First-Degree Rape, he will also face 20 years of post-release supervision and is required to register as a sex offender.  The abuse occurred in February 2023 while the victim's mother was at work.
Juan Chuquimarca Guzman, a 20-year-old from Shelter Island, has been indicted for promoting and possessing child sexual abuse material after allegedly uploading over 4,000 videos and images of such content to a cloud service. The indictment follows an investigation initiated by a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in August 2024.
Willie Curry, a 36-year-old man from Brentwood, has been indicted on charges of attempted murder after allegedly stabbing his ex-wife more than 20 times in a McDonald’s drive-thru on November 2, 2024. This attack occurred just hours after the victim sought legal protection against him.
Benjamin Sheen-Waltzer, a 32-year-old man from Southampton, has been indicted for leaving the scene of a crash that resulted in the death of 67-year-old Angel Asitimbay from Hampton Bays.

He was found guilty of operating a charter vessel without a permit and illegally possessing Black Sea Bass, a protected species due to overfishing. Joseph Scalafani, 34, from Mastic Beach, pleaded guilty to Murder in the Second Degree for the execution-style killing of 32-year-old Alex Smith. The murder occurred on May 20, 2023, when Scalafani ambushed Smith outside a bar, shooting him multiple times, including twice in the head.
Dolores Mancialandaverde, a 28-year-old man from Medford, pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash. The incident occurred on June 8, 2024, when Mancialandaverde, driving with a suspended license, crashed his vehicle into a tractor trailer, resulting in the death of his back-seat passenger, Hedilberto Nava-Perez, 44, and serious injuries to a front-seat passenger.

The incident occurred on October 26, 2024, at a parking lot in Bellport after a verbal and physical dispute.

Tierney, announced that 16-year-old Randell Hollman has been sentenced to three to nine years in prison for a home-invasion rape that took place in Mastic Beach. Hollman, who was 14 at the time of the crime, broke into a home and sexually assaulted a 23-year-old mother in front of her four-year-old child.

Jeffrey Edsall, 52, sentenced to 3-6 years in prison for vehicular assault in Suffolk County. Edsall stole a car, drove under the influence, and caused a four-car collision that left a 73-year-old woman with serious injuries. The allegations include the victim being drugged and sexually assaulted until she lost consciousness. Rape is a heinous crime that victims live with forever. Arresting and successfully prosecuting sexual predators is a top priority for Suffolk Law Enforcement.
These defendants are accused of setting fires at PSEG stations to cause power outages, so they could burglarize local businesses. This is the type of complex crime that takes great police work and diligent prosecutors to stop. Great job by members of the SCPD and the District Attorney's office working together.
